The 41-year-old TV host is leaving the reality TV competition series after being hospitalized with epiglottis, a potentially life-threatening inflammatory condition that can cause swelling and block airflow to the lungs, ABC reported on Monday (November 2). “My doctors discovered a health concern with my throat which requires immediate attention and surgery.
I am heartbroken that my DWTS journey has to end here. I have pushed myself to new limits physically and mentally, and I am so proud of how far we’ve come,” she said in a statement to Good Morning America. Jeannie was competing with pro dancer Brandon Armstrong on the show.
