British Vogue released its March issue, for which cover star Campbell, 51, was photographed with her baby daughter for the first time.

The black Valentino dress she is wearing is almost entirely obscured by her daughter’s plump little body; this alone illustrates that Campbell is no longer a supermodel hired to sell fashion.

She is the story. Raised in Streatham, south London, by her mother and grandmother, Campbell was spotted in the street as a teenager and quickly signed to a modelling agency.

After three months, she was flown to New Orleans by British Elle – during the trip the other model was (somewhat ironically given Cambell’s later reputation) sent home for being difficult.
