Manchester Crown Court heard. Briggs, from Northenden, has now been jailed for a year after a judge said he 'sought to control intimate or ex-partners'.
The court heard how the defendant had been with his ex-partner for around a year before the relationship broke down in December last year.She got into a new relationship in January this year with the complainant in this incident.On February 2, the woman was staying at her partner's house in Oldham.
At around 5.50pm, Briggs sent her a message on Facebook messenger.There was also a phone call between them, during which the defendant heard a 'minor argument over the washing up' between the woman and her partner."Briggs said he was coming to pick her up because she wasn't safe.
