TV star Jason Manford has accepted a job at Iceland, after being turned down for £8-an-hour shifts at Tesco. The comedian and former One Show host joked he was "livid" at failing to bag a role with Britain's biggest supermarket - before being offered one by the frozen-food giant.
It tweeted him after he posted his 'rejection' email, saying: "Our door is always open for you. Help us out for the day and we’ll make a donation to the NHS in your name." He replied: "I’m on it Iceland.
Happy to do a shift if you can donate my wages to the charity I’m patron of, @CAFTcharity." CAFT - the Children's Adventure Farm Trust - provides holidays and day visits to ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from the North West of England.
