Supermarket chain Iceland have reached out to offer Jason Manford a job after he was turned down by Tesco. The comedian was ‘livid’ when he was rejected from a position at a branch during the pandemic, as he wanted to help those in need.
Iceland responded to Jason’s rejection letter on Twitter from Tesco and offered to donate to NHS charities, saying: ‘Our door is always open for you @JasonManford. ‘Help us out for the day and we’ll make a donation to the NHS in your name.’ Cheekily, it added Tesco’s tagline ‘every little helps’ and a winking emoji at the end.
The TV presenter replied: ‘I’m on it Iceland. Happy to do a shift if you can donate my wages to the charity I’m patron of, @CAFTcharity.
