A James Bond superfan who owns one of the most memorable props from the film franchise was left astonished at its whopping value after taking it to Antiques Roadshow.
The movie prop – famously used in 1964 film Goldfinger by Bond villain Oddjob – allowed the character played by Harold Sakata to kill his enemies by throwing the steel-rimmed at them.
And while the 56 years since have been rather unkind to the hat, one enthusiast has managed to keep hold of it. The owner explained on last night’s BBC show that his brother-in-law was a driver for Aston Martin during the filming of Goldfinger and had asked Pinewood Studios if they had any memorabilia.
