Britain’s love of the NHS shows no signs of slowing down as it has been voted the coolest thing in the world - ever. The health service beat inventions from supersonic jet Concorde and the E-type Jag to bullet trains, space travel and artificial intelligence as mankind’s most incredible creation.

And it was ahead of showbiz stars including The Great Escape actor Steve McQueen, designer products like Ray-Ban sunglasses and tech advances like Tesla’s electric Cybertruck.

According to a survey to find the top 50 in Brits' eyes, James Bond was named the coolest individual on the planet, ahead of former US President Barack Obama, cult actor James Dean and the king of rock, Elvis Presley.
