Jake Paul branded 'high-school wrestler' who only takes 'safe fights' by ex-UFC star

Jake Paul as someone who has only taken on "safe fights" in his boxing career and questioned talk over a future in MMA. Paul is unbeaten in professionally-sanctioned fights since turning his attention from social media stardom to boxing, having won each of his five fights to date.But he is yet to face anyone with prior boxing experience, having taken on fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, basketball star Nate Robinson and two ageing MMA fighters in Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Despite being a long way from conquering the boxing world, Paul has talked up the possibility of a switch to MMA fighting, with a spot in the UFC possibly mooted for the American in the future.

But former two-weight champion Cormier has laughed off the suggestion that Paul would be able to hack it in the UFC. "I don't think he's going to fight MMA, right?" he replied when asked by Star Sport about the possibility. "He's found his lane with mixed martial arts athletes in boxing.

Against guys that don't present as much of a challenge to him."He's making a lot of money, fighting safe fights, and I don't see why he would change it."Cormier did have some praise for Paul, though, as he discussed his admiration for the way the YouTuber has made a heap of cash from his switch to fighting.Could Jake Paul launch a successful career in MMA?
