GORDON Ramsay is planning a huge basement renovation at his £7million London home. The award-winning chef, 54, wants to add a bedroom, wine room, plant room and shower room to the property.
Plans submitted to his local council reveal the existing ground floor extension will be demolished and replaced with a more modern design, while the lower ground floor will get a light well leading out to the garden.
A light well typically consists of a glass roof to let natural light into a property. The basement will retain its gym, study and utility room.
If approved, the changes will add a sizeable 76m2 to the home, with the work taking more than a year to complete. Plans state work would begin in September and end in December 2022.
