A driver has faced fierce criticism for parking their car across a path in a bizarre lockdown protest people using the beach for exercise.

The Vauxhall Corsa was left parked overnight in Wirral, Merseyside, blocking access to Moreton Shore. Taped to windows inside the vehicle were notes reading "due to  Covid  lockdown" and "please exercise near your home as per UK law - thank you", reports the Liverpool Echo.

The car owner's actions sparked criticism on local Facebook groups with one woman posting: "To the idiot who put the car across the barrier in Moreton last night / this morning...

I hope you slept well and felt a sense of accomplishment. "Your note says 'go exercise in your local area'. Well as the crow flies I am 0.3m from that
