Hulu has acquired the U.S. rights to Peter Nicks’ 2021 Sundance documentary Homeroom, which captures a year of institutional struggle in Oakland's public school system.
Executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Homeroom and two other documentaries by Nicks about Oakland —The Waiting Room, about local health care, and the criminal justice-focused The Force— will launch as a film trilogy on the streaming platform later this year. "Homeroom is a timely and empowering story that celebrates the courage and tenacity of young people today.
