A huge explosion has ripped through a terrace of homes, flattening one house and leaving others extensively damaged.The Mirror reports emergency services rushed to the scene of the explosion on Clydach Road in Morriston, Swansea, shortly after 11am on Monday March 13.
A major incident has been declared as emergency service workers pick through the rubble. No details are yet available as to the number of casualties in the blast, which is thought to have been a gas explosion, although no confirmation of the cause has yet been established.
Locals reported hearing a massive bang, and some even reported feeling their houses shake. One local resident told Wales Online they "heard a bang, saw a gust of smoke and roof tiles from a house go up in the air".
Alamgir Hossain, who lives opposite the scene of the apparent explosion, said: "Suddenly I heard a loud sound and we went out and then I saw a lot of damage to the house." A video shared on social media shows scenes of destruction, with a number of firefighters at the scene.
