Mercedes driver, 25, sobs as she appears in court accused of killing couple in crash

A 25-year-old woman sobbed as she appeared in court accused of killing a couple in a crash. Laila Wigley, of Thoresby Avenue, Bridlington, has been charged with causing the deaths of Dean Yarrow and Faye Wardle by dangerous driving on the A165 in Yorkshire in May 7, 2021, Hull Live reports.

She is also accused of causing serious injury to a child by dangerous driving. Ms Wigley's Mercedes collided head-on with Mr Yarrow's Peugeot 2008 on the road, the court was told.

Mr Yarrow, 33, was driving, while his girlfriend Ms Wardle, 32, was a passenger and a child was in a child seat. She was not asked to enter pleas to the three charges. Emily Robinson, prosecuting, said that the accident happened at 3.28pm as Ms Wigley drove a black Mercedes Benz car on the A165 at Bridlington, near the junction of Grindale Road crossroads.
