Manchester United are on the hunt for their fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013, following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.
Solskjaer was relieved of his duties at United after the 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, a result that marked a fifth defeat in their last seven Premier League matches.
Michael Carrick has been placed in caretaker charge until United appoint a replacement, with it initially suggested the club would appoint an interim until the end of the season.
But, as reported by the Manchester Evening News , Mauricio Pochettino — currently in charge of French giants Paris Saint-Germain — is open to the prospect of taking the job and is well admired at Old Trafford.
