A heroic bushwalker who found an autistic teenager who had been missing in thick bushland for three days, has shared how he rescued the boy.
The miracle discovery came as Ben Gibbs deviated off the trail for just 20 minutes, and cut his way through the vegetation before he spotted William Callaghan "just standing there".
The 15-year-old was given a piece of chocolate and some warm socks by his rescuer, before Ben called for help. In a bid to keep the teen calm and relaxed as the pair waited for the rescue team together, Ben spoke to William about Bertie and Diesel from Thomas the Tank Engine.
