A hospital consultant accused of sexually assaulting three women he was performing medical examinations on has been found not guilty.

Jurors unanimously cleared Dr Narendra Kochar, 50, from Timperley, of six counts of sexual assault. The alleged offences related to three female complainants.

Manchester Crown Court heard that the allegations arose from his time working at the Manchester Royal Infirmary as a consultant gastroenterologist.

Prosecutors had claimed that Dr Kochar 'exploited' the examinations 'for his own sexual gratification'. One alleged victim who saw Dr Kochar at the hospital for a colonoscopy claimed he had put his hands between her legs and touched her genital area.
