dailystar.co.ukA man has barricaded himself in a flat after police responded to a "firearms incident" – with nearby homes evacuated. Residents on Birmingham Road in West Bromwich were turfed out in the early hours of this morning after West Midlands Police rushed to the scene.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers were called to an address on Birmingham Road, West Bromwich last night to reports of a firearms incident. "On arrival a 53-year-old man barricaded himself inside a flat and is refusing to come out.
Some neighbouring flats have been evacuated as a precaution." Specialist negotiators are currently trying to talk with the man.
