Publicists from more than 100 firms that represent nearly all of the talent in Hollywood have sent a letter to the HFPA to demand “transformational change” within the organization.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which is the organization behind the Golden Globes, has been in turmoil ever since it was revealed a few weeks ago that there are zero Black members in the 87-person group.
The publicists in Hollywood say that they will not advocate for their clients to attend any events associated with the HFPA until has change. “We cannot advocate for our clients to participate in HFPA events or interviews as we await your explicit plans and timeline for transformational change,” the message read.
