After several delays to the grand opening of Los Angeles’s Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Hollywood’s best and brightest finally took to the green carpet last night to celebrate the landmark structure opening its doors.
The new Museum will officially be open to the public starting on September 30. The evening celebrations, co-chaired by Ava DuVernay, Ryan Murphy, and Jason Blum, honoured actress Sophia Loren and filmmaker Haile Gerima.
Lady Gaga stole the show when she closed out the night with an hour-long set of big band jazz, singing classics by Cole Porter and Edith Piaf, and a crowd-pleasing New York, New York.
