A group of gobsmacked Brits arrived on holiday to find no hotel rooms had been booked for their trip to Spain. The 18 friends jetted off to Benidorm to celebrate a 50th birthday. But their trip started in the worst possible way when they discovered they had nowhere to stay upon arrival.
Despite booking a package with loveholidays, the hotel couldn't find any booking and they were told that they would have to find somewhere else to stay. The pals, from Pontypridd in Wales, were forced to fork out thousands of pounds last minute to find alternative accomodation in the holiday hotspot.
Karin Collins told WalesOnline that they were told by the travel company they would be reimbursed if they found somewhere else to stay.
She said: "We arrived at the hotel around 5pm to be told that the rooms hadn't been booked. We were told that if we found somewhere else they would pay us back but it took us until about 10pm to get sorted so we missed the first night of our holiday."We did manage to find another hotel and had to pay out £3,000 for that and pay for the extra taxis on top of it.
