Having first appeared on our screens back in 1983, Trudie Goodwin became a familiar face to viewers up and down the country as she starred in The Bill. Taking the role of Sergeant June Ackland, 71 year old Trudie appeared in the police drama for over three decades and was the show’s longest-running character before she stepped back from the programme in 2007. Speaking to the Mirror in 2005 ahead of her exit, the actress explained that despite her decision to leave the show, she’d had a “brilliant” time on The Bill.

Police drama The Bill could return to screens in early 2023

Fans of The Bill were excited to hear the series was set to return to screens, so they’ll be buzzing to learn there could be a second reboot in the pipeline. Last year, a trio of actors from the original show joined together with writer Simon Sansoem to revive the police drama, which aired on ITV.

The Bill set for massive TV return 12 years after axe with two reboots in the works

ITV writer Simon Sansome to revive the beloved TV show one more time.Now, UKTV is in its infancy of developing a new spin-off of the cop drama which could hit out screens as early as next year. A TV insider has since revealed to The Sun that the fan-favourite show is ready to be rebooted and attract a new wave of fans to the show.
