Andi Oliver has explained her hurt regarding those bemoaning criticism of the racist language in the writing of Enid Blyton.
The Great British Menu star, 57, took to social media on Monday to explain her experience regarding growing up through the popularity of Blyton's novels.
The children’s author wrote the popular Famous Five and Secret Seven books but her work included racist language. Earlier this month, English Heritage revealed that in the wake of prominent Black Lives Matter protests last year they had updated that Blyton's online blue plaque biography to include a note that her work has been criticised for its "racism, xenophobia and lack of literary merit”.
