Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Determined Neil Lennon says he's not hungry for success at Omonia Nicosia - he's starving. And the former Celtic and Hibs boss says he only got as far as the taxi to his hotel before he met an enthusiastic fan.

Lennon is back in work a year after his Parkhead exit and takes over an Omonia side who have disappointed so far this season.He inherits a team in turmoil with the club hit with seven separate fines on the day of his unveiling - one of which for their fans spitting on an opposition player.

Lennon replaces former Rangers star Henning Berg as manager and speaking at his first press conference he revealed he didn't get far before encountering his first supporter.

When asked if he's met any of the fans yet, he said: "Yes, the taxi driver who brought me here last night. I want to tell the world that I will do everything for the team to be successful."Lennon has frequently insisted he'd be keen on a job outside of the UK and he says that's a big part of what drew him to Cyprus.He went on, saying he's more than hungry to bring success to his new team as he gets set to take charge."I have a huge motivation to be successful," he added. "I wanted to work outside the UK.
