Gogglebox favourite Mary was left in tears tonight as she lamented over "simpler times" in The Sound of Music - but fans were left with raised eyebrows as they pointed out that she may have forgotten a major plot point in the film.

Maria, played by Julie Andrews, was seen teaching the von Trapp children songs as they sat in the fields.
