GMB fans fume as Richard Madeley interrupts Ukrainian refugee segment to ask about pizza

Good Morning Britain fans were left up in arms after Richard Madeley stopped much-needed updates on Ukrainian refugee camps to enquire about the pizzas on offer.During Tuesday’s (March 15) instalment of the popular ITV morning show, the 65-year-old welcomed viewers back with his co-host Susanna Reid as they discussed the latest news headlines.

And one of the biggest stories of the day was the rush to rehome refugees fleeing the country at the Poland and Ukraine border as residents travelled in by train.

One of the many Britons who has gone over to help residents escape the war-torn country is David Fox-Pitt who is currently staying in the nearby village of Medyka in Poland.And in order to brighten their day a little more after they left the harrowing country, the 65-year-old adventurer welcomed refugees with free food and shelter including pizza.As the explorer gave an emotional speech thanking all of the volunteers who had offered up their time and resources to help those in need, Richard interrupted the discussion to ask what pizza toppings are on offer.He said: “What’s the favourite pizza topping?

What’s the favourite pizza topping?” which David replied: “We do two. The favourite one is the pepperoni with a lovely cheese.”But it’s fair to say the interruption didn’t go unnoticed by viewers at home as many fans of the show flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts on his “ridiculous” comments online.One user penned: “With all the questions Richard Madeley could have asked about Ukrainians who finally get to safety, he asked what was most popular pizza topping!
