England hero Gary Lineker has taken to social media to defend himself with many accusing the striker of diving during the 1990 World Cup quarter-final with Cameroon.
England had to come from behind, and needed extra time, to beat the African nation in Naples 30 years ago. Lineker netted two penalties though the first, which made it 2-2, was highly controversial with many suggested the Match of the Day striker dived following a challenge by Cameroon goalkeeper Thomas N’Kono.
But Lineker has now opened up on the challenge, saying it was the challenge from the defender that actually felled the striker.
