Charlton, who had been diagnosed with lymphoma in the last year and also had dementia, died aged 85 on Saturday morning.He will be most fondly remembered for being part of England’s 1966 World Cup winning team and for managing the Republic of Ireland.
He also managed Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle United and made a joint club record 773 appearances for Leeds United.
