Tributes are being paid to England and Leeds legend Jack Charlton after his family announced he had passed away on Saturday morning.
The former centre-back spent his whole career at Leeds, making a total of 773 appearances for the club, while he was also part of the England team which won the World Cup in 1966.
After his playing career he went into management, taking charge of Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle and Republic of Ireland.
Following the sad news of his death, the English Football League tweeted: "We are saddened to learn of the passing of @LUFC and @England legend Jack Charlton at the age of 85. "Charlton made a club-record 773 appearances for Leeds United as a player and was a World Cup winner with his country.
