hikers have hit out after being left with a £70 parking fine - despite leaving money plus a tip on the windscreen of their car.
The fiver, accompanied by a note explaining their situation, was enough to cover the cost of the ticket, plus a little extra for the inconvenience.
They parked at a pay-and-display facility at Snowdon in Wales which charges £2 per person but, as visitors have previously found to their cost in the past, only accepts coins and doesn't take card.After being slapped with the fine Andrew Frith and partner Olivia Donnelly accused the local council of being petty and said the incident sent out the wrong message to visitors who try to behave honestly.
