Frank Lampard facing Chelsea headache as Edouard Mendy suffers injury on international duty

Frank Lampard could be forced to recall Kepa Arrizabalaga to Chelsea's starting line-up after Edouard Mendy suffered an injury on international duty with Senegal.

Mendy has started two games since his £20million transfer from Rennes, replacing the Spaniard as Chelsea's new No 1. The 28-year-old kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace, but could be set for a spell on the sidelines, after being sent home from Senegal's camp.

The Senegalese Football Association confirmed Mendy had suffered a thigh injury in preparation for their friendly with Morocco on Friday night.

After being taken for scans in Rabat, he has now been sent back to Cobham where he will be assessed by Chelsea doctors. Chelsea face
