Four tiny puppies aged about three weeks old have been saved by a member of the public who found them discarded in a cardboard box and left to die.The pups, believed to be Labradors, were found dumped tonight, Friday, December 22.

The three are too young to be separated from their nursing mother so have been taken in by Mid Ulster Rehoming Centre for Dogs,.

The dogs are the third abandoned litter to have been taken in by the organisation in recent days and are thought to be puppies the breeder was unable to sell for Christmas, reports Belfast Live. The puppies, three black and one yellow, will now stay in isolation over the festive period and will now be cared for until they are old enough to find new homes once they are given a clean bill of health.A spokesperson for the rehoming group said: "They're safe now and we will give them the best care.

But as everyone knows the cost of electric, food and puppy milk to keep these wee guys going will be very expensive. We would appreciate any help that people can afford."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
