A former Premier League footballer is recovering in hospital after being shot in Kingston, Jamaica. Jermaine Johnson, who played 12 top-flight games for Bolton in the early 2000s, was hit in the abdomen and is recovering in hospital, according to the Jamaica Observer.
The report says Johnson was one of three individuals to be shot along with netball player Nicole Henry and another man known only as 'Fidel'.
His condition is described as serious but stable. Police are said to believe the incident is related to an ongoing gang feud.
A car allegedly drove up to the trio, who were sitting in a group, and opened fire. Johnson, 40, currently plays for Tivoli Gardens in the Red Stripe Premier League in his homeland.
