People living in Toronto Street, in Breightmet, reported seeing a man 'covered in blood' being carried from the property on a stretcher following the incident this afternoon (Monday, November 2).Police and paramedics were called to the street shortly before 1.30pm today.A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, say GMP.A cordon remained in place outside the property throughout this afternoon as forensics officers searched a flat on the ground floor.People living on the residential street, off Bury Road, described seeing a ‘group of young lads screaming’ outside the flat earlier in the afternoon.Julie Glover, who lives in Toronto Street, said she heard some ‘thumping’.
