Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Irresponsible fly-tippers in Renfrewshire who have blighted beauty spots during the Covid-19 outbreak have been dealt hefty fines, the council has confirmed.Environment convener Cathy McEwan announced during a recent meeting there had been 22 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) issued during the lockdown period, which incur a £200 fine.Councillor McEwan also warned if these are not paid within a fortnight, perpetrators can go to court where they could end up being hit with a fine of up to £40,000.The same person's details were found several times on waste in Renfrew, while a van was also caught red-handed dumping rubbish in Erskine.Fly-tippers have also been fined in.
