Floyd Mayweather has announced that he will be fighting former sparring partner Don Moore in front of just 20 VIP fans on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in a bizarre return to the ring.
The undefeated former professional, who retired in 2017 after winning fifteen major world championships, has also revealed that the tickets for his latest exhibition will only be available as a sports NFT - in the first event of its kind.The NFT, which is a digital assist that resembles something from the real world, currently costs 65 Ethereum which works out to around £150,000 - and will be strictly limited to 20 sales.The Sun reports that 10 of the 20 tickets have sold for the May 14 showdown, bringing in revenue of around £1.5million, with more money set to be made by the PPV price of £14.99.
The event has been put together by the Global Titans Fight Series and dubbed The Showcase in the Skies of Dubai is headlined by Mayweather vs Moore, and also includes UFC icon Anderson Silva vs Bruno Machado, Delfine Persoon vs Elhem Mekhaled and Badou Jack vs Hany Atiyo.
Moore, who began sparring Mayweather back in 2012, was undefeated from 19 bouts of his own professional career, but never fought an opponent who had a winning record. HAVE YOUR SAY!
