Frank Lampard has been appointed as the new manager of Everton, concluding the search for Rafael Benitez's replacement. The former England and Chelsea star replaces the Spaniard, following his sacking after a 2-1 defeat to Norwich earlier this month.Following a meeting between owner Farhad Moshiri and his advisors on Friday evening, it was agreed that Lampard should be the man to take the reins at Goodison Park.
Lampard, 43, has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea 12 months ago. The ex-Derby boss held talks about becoming Norwich manager in November before taking himself out of the running, with the Canaries opting for Dean Smith instead.

Rooney revealed on Thursday that he turned down the chance to interview for the job at the club where he first made his name.
