EuroMillions ticket he bought during a last-minute dash to the shop to buy carrots for his Sunday dinner. Martin Gilbey, 50, and his partner Tracy were at home discussing their post-Christmas finances when he insisted on the couple having a roast dinner to cheer themselves up.He checked the fridge and luckily, all they were missing were some carrots, so Martin went to the shop to pick them up.As he got to the till, he was informed that there was a £3 minimum charge on card payments, so he asked the woman serving him whether he should buy a scratch card or a lottery ticket.The woman told him to pick up a ticket for the Friday January 8 draw, and so Martin opted for a lucky dip to take him over the £3 limit.Martin said after Tracy went to bed.
