Jack Catterall takes on Josh Taylor who is defending his undisputed super-lightweight belts for the first time tonight. Taylor beat Jose Carlos Ramirez last year to clinch all four belts and it may be his final fight at this weight level, the Scotsman expected to move up if he wins.
Local fighter Catterall, the WBO's mandatory challenger, will seek to prevent that happening in Glasgow, as he looks to maintain his stellar 26-0 record.
Chorley's Catterall said: "I have a lot of respect for Josh and his accomplishments," the former British champion says. "But all that goes out of the window.
This is what I'm in the sport for, to test myself against great fighters like Josh. I'm ready for these sorts of challenges. "It's going to be a tough fight but I'm fully confident I can go up there and cause an upset.
