The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has determined that the El Dorado Fire, currently burning over 8,600 acres near Oak Glen in San Bernardino County, was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device used in a gender reveal party.
According to the Cal Fire San Bernardino Unit, which shared the update via a press release posted to its official Instagram account, the incident first began at 10:23 a.m.
