Haluk Bilginer, who played Mehmet Osman in EastEnders during the late 80s, has appeared looking strikingly different to his former character in his latest role.
The actor was part of the cast of EastEnders from 1985 to 1989 and was the sibling of Ali Osman, portrayed by Nejdet Salih. He was first introduced to the BBC soap by scriptwriters Tony Holland and Julia Smith to represent London's growing Turkish Cypriot community.
However, their characters were suddenly written out when the scriptwriters left the show. One of Haluk's most memorable moments in Albert Square was his duet with Salih at The Queen Vic pub, where they performed the energetic Turkish song Oy Oy Emine.
