EastEnders ' Jean Slater has been leaving viewers concerned for weeks now, after she stopped taking her bipolar medicine. The situation is about to take a worrying turn in upcoming scenes, as she tries to seduce Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) ahead of Stacey Fowler's return to Albert Square.

Following the death of her partner Daniel Cook (Adrian Edmondson) in February, Jean (Gillian Wright) gave up on her medication, secretly deciding against taking it.

Her friends and family slowly started noticing a change in her mood, as the grieving matriarch started acting out. Explaining her character's struggles, actress Gillian said: "Jean thought she was coping with Daniel's death very, very well and he would be proud of her." She continued
