The case was heard this week at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court, The Mirror reports.She had allegedly downed the alcohol to help with her “fear of flying”.Prosecutor Brian Berlyne said: “She may have underestimated the effect of the alcohol that was consumed.“Passengers in front of her had complained of her loud volume while she was speaking.“There was an irate response, resulting in the crew becoming involved.”As soon as she was arrested, police were able to tell she was drunk because the smell of alcohol on he breath was strong and her speech was “slurred and loud”.She tried to deny doing anything wrong, as CCTV caught her saying: “I didn't do nothing wrong.”Paul Wood, defending said: “The level of risk was low, in my opinion, and it was set against the background of her mental health issues.”He also described his client as a “positive good character”.The judge, Recorder Paul Reid QC, told the woman that he treats cases of being drunk of a flight “very seriously”, and gave the mum a three-month sentence, but said that it would be suspended for 18 months.He told her:.
