Drivers could be forced to pay £10k more on vehicles as car prices rise by 70%

Uswitch.com analysed the average cost of car insurance, fuel and road tax and purchase price.The largest increase in price was for the Volkswagen Golf which saw a 72% surge in price in the space of 10 years.Meanwhile in 2021, a brand-new VW Golf would cost around £23,360, compared to the same car in 2011 cost just £13,615.But despite the price increases, the average salary in the UK has only risen by 22% in the same period.
