A driver cheated death after her van smashed through stonework, veered off a bridge and landed on its side in a river below.
The unnamed woman was pulled from the River Isla, near Keith, Moray with injuries described as “non-life-threatening”.Emergency services were called to the B9014 Dufftown road about a mile south of Keith after the one-vehicle crash shortly after 10am on Wednesday.
The driver was reportedly pulled from the van while it was in the River Isla after it dropped more than 12ft from the bridge.Dramatic photos of the aftermath show the wrecked van on its side in the water with its airbags deployed.Police officers were scrambled to the scene and confirmed the driver was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries.Stonewo
