Peter Manley was still selling red tops (ahem) while he was going for double top during his early days as a darts player - because he was still working as a newsagent.During a colourful career at the top that spanned just over 20 years, Manley reached three PDC World Darts Championship finals – losing to Phil Taylor on all three occasions.Despite those runs to the final and his brief status as the game's number one player, One Dart only ever won one major tournament - the now-defunct Las Vegas Desert Classic in 2003.

Manley, who is now 59, first made his mark on the big stage in 1995 when he reached the final of the BDO European Masters at Lakeside - a tournament he actually had to qualify for.

At the time, One Dart didn't have a single world ranking point to his name and such was the shock nature of his run to the final he even featured on a local news segment giving an insight into his double life as a newsagent.

In the clip available on YouTube, Manley greets a regular customer who wishes him the best of luck for the final, before joking on the phone about not wanting to short change people. Who do you think will win the seniors world championship?
