Couple devastated as P&O Cruises cancels £3k holiday to use their cabin as Covid pod

Wheelchair-user Claire Bromley, 58, and husband Keith, 62, were looking forward to a two-week trip across the Canaries at the end of the month, but had their dreams shattered less than a month before they were due to set sail.

The couple, from Silverdale, booked the getaway last year, but say it wasn't until three weeks before they were due to depart they were told the company is using the cabin they had booked as an isolation room.READ MORE: Family's dream £1,700 Egyptian holiday turns to 'hell' with 'faeces on floor' P&O Cruises has apologised to the Bromley's for their experience, and put it down to "Covid protocols" when they were contacted by StokeonTrentLiveClaire, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, said they initially thought it was a joke, but were really disappointed when they realised it wasn't and were told why.“I asked if they could offer me another cabin and they said all the others are full," she said."I am really disgusted.
