Covid-19 cases must "substantially" reduce before Scotland can consider a return to normality, according to a disease expert.
Professor Hugh Pennington said 'we are in the hands of the virus' despite being past the peak of the pandemic. It comes after yesterday's figures showed 1,762 patients in Scotland have died after testing positive for coronavirus, up by 59 overnight.
