Chihuahua lured to safety with tasty Cheeto chips after two weeks on the run

The adorable pooch, now nicknamed "Cheeto Murphy", has been running wild across California and has even been spotted popping its little head around the freeway.The dog has caused mayhem for the past two weeks, with officers finding it difficult to capture the dog as well as the California Highway Patrol.Officers even tried to grab Murphy's attention using food traps around the freeway and had tried to rescue the dog a total of six times, reports Newsweek.Despite authorities getting involved, it was actually two office workers carrying the cheesy snack who helped rescue Murphy.Caroline Brewer said she spotted Murphy running around in the car park located by her office so phoned her co-worker Linda Lynch for help."She said there was a dog running through the parking lot without a collar, and could I bring some food down that he might eat?" Lynch told CBS8."So I opened a drawer and I saw a bag of Cheetos.
I thought, 'what dog doesn't love Cheetos?'"Together, the pair managed to coax the pooch into snacking on the crisps and have since named him Cheeto Murphy."We've been giving him hot dogs.
He's going away from Cheetos. He likes other things now," commented Blackburn."He really is sweet. He doesn't want to be fearful.
He doesn't want to be mean, but he definitely needs to trust someone."Currently, Cheeto Murphy is being looked after by officials at the Humane Society.
