Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao (born March 3, 1997) is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and actress.
She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, formed on The X Factor (U.S.) in 2012, signing a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.
While a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes, and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
This year's event will be a virtual celebration, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The international video of the year category at the upcoming MYX Philippines Awards lives up to its name this year, with the nominees including K-Pop sensations BTS; pop's most famous couple, Shawn Mendes from Canada and Camila Cabello from Cuba; and several American artists.
The full list of nominees in that category: Ariana Grande's "7 Rings," BTS's "Boy With Luv" (featuring Halsey), Taylor Swift's "Lover," Mendes and Cabello's "Señorita" and Jonas Brothers' "Sucker." The nominations were announced Thursday (May 21), along with the news that this year's event will be a virtual celebration, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
