Brits visiting the Balearic islands will have to wear masks from this weekend or face being fined 100 euros. The regional government is implementing the new rule, following on from a similar decision taken by Catalonia.
An official order is to be published either on Friday or Saturday and will apply in all the Balearics, including Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, according to the Spanish press.
The decision has been taken in a bid to prevent the spread of new coronavirus cases already being recorded in the holiday islands.
The regional executive plans to include mandatory obligations in places such as beaches, swimming pools and sports activities.
